What is Konfabulator? Whatever you want it to be.
In 1998 Arlo Rose saw skinnable MP3 players and dreamed big thoughts. What if you could skin any information you want to see and have it readily available on your desktop? In 2003 Konfabulator was released for the Mac desktop, unveiling JavaScript widgets executed within a shareware application.
Konfabulator pioneered many current uses of small snippets of information exposed as widgets. Konfabulator was acquired by Yahoo! in 2005 and is now known as the Yahoo! Widget Engine.
