Bio
Arlo Rose joined Yahoo! in August of 2005, with the acquisition of Pixoria and serves as the senior product experience architect for Yahoo!'s Connected Life business unit. He is responsible for shaping a cohesive user and visual experience for Yahoo!'s device applications, extending not only to the PC desktop, but also to mobile devices, TVs and other future platforms.
Rose is an internationally published multimedia, visual, and interaction designer with more than 16 years of experience working on consumer products in the software design industry. In 2003, Rose co-founded Pixoria to develop and bring to market Konfabulator, a platform for users to easily create and distribute mini-applications called Widgets. Today, Konfabulator is now known as Yahoo! Widget Engine. Yahoo! Widgets enable users to view local weather, stock quotes and more without opening a Web browser.
Prior to co-founding Pixoria, Rose worked at PGP Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Apple Computer and several start-up technology companies, both as a co-founder and product designer. While at Apple, Rose designed the specifications for the Mac OS 8 Macintosh Toolbox. In addition, he is the inventor of several modern GUI technologies with patents pending.
