Eric Lin is an editor at Phone Scoop, a site that tracks mobile news and the launch of new handsets as it relates to US subscribers. He has been writing about cell phones on the internet since before people who do that were called bloggers. Back then, he was called crazy for covering phones when what everybody wanted was a PDA, but he stuck to his cellular guns. He has developed a strong interest in the use of phones as an alternative to PCs around the world, from advanced technology to creative uses of basic voice and text services. Covering the cellular world is only the most recent career for Mr. Lin, in previous lives he was a packaging designer, lead designer at a small advertising and PR agency and a professional slacker selling people sporting equipment in remote East-coast vacation spots.
