Synopsis
Nokia will outline its vision for mobile widget development on today's handset and cellular provider environment. Mobile devices feature a smaller screen size, limited interaction capabilities, and often metered data access at slower speeds. Yet the mobile phone has become the primary computing device of individuals around the world, providing the advanced functionality to stay connected no matter where your day make take you.
Today's mobile widgets are based on standard web technologies you may already know such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In the future these same technologies will enable developers to access device-level data such as an address book, current location, or upcoming calendar appointments. The Nokia Web Run-Time, based on the feature-packed WebKit rendering engine, will power a new generation of mobile widgets on the S60 mobile platform.
In this session Nokia will walk through several live examples of widgets currently running on S60 smartphones around the world. You will learn how to distribute mobile content, create new partnerships, and possibly collect revenue from engaging mobile widget content.
