Fred Dixon
Bio
As VP of Sales at Serence, Fred is responsible for increasing new customer sales, formulating business development strategies, establishing alternate channels, and managing ongoing strategic accounts.
Fred is past CEO of two startups: Databeacon and OpenLava. He grew Databeacon from two employees to over 35 employees and $3 million in sales and also established OEM relationships with Avolent, Actuate, and Hummingbird.
Fred holds a Math degree from University of Waterloo. In 2003, he was recognized as one of Ottawa's "40 under 40" by the Ottawa Business Journal.

OpenLava build an intelligent instant messaging platform that could extract knowledge from real-time conversations into a knowledge base, thus saving time and effort when the same problem occured in later conversations.

I founded Databeacon on October 15, 1995. The company built Java-based business intelligence tools that we successfully OEMed to HummingBird, WhiteLight, and Actuate. Cognos acquired Databeacon in September, 2005.
