Apple Dashboard Widgets
Apple Dashboard was introduced in April 2005 as a core component of Mac OS v10.4 "Tiger." Dashboard widgets are accessible via the Mac's dock or by special keystroke and invokes a full heads-up display. Mac widgets can take full advantage of the Safari web browser, AppleScript, and Quartz rendering to create great looking widgets with live information from across the web and desktop.
